It’s been an eventful and fast-moving nearly two months since I published “The Mesilla – The Two Valleys Saga.” My time has been taken with setting up my marketing platform – consisting of a Facebook Author page, a Mailerlite email building and newsletter application, this website, an Amazon Author page, a Goodreads page, a Linkedin page, and some things I probably don’t remember at the moment.
I have focused on my local marketing and I now have my books in stock at every local bookstore I know of and at our Las Cruces Barnes and Noble in the Mall. There should be a book review in the local weekly paper this Friday and I have a line on being interviewed on a local radio station. I will appear at a book signing event next month at the local Marriott Hotel and am hoping for more book signings at the various bookstores.
On the net, I continue to build my following – thank you to everyone that has joined me. I have a “book magnet” that will be finished soon that I will use on book promotions websites such as Bookbub and others. Yesterday, I did an “Author Takeover” on “The Historical Fiction Club’s” Facebook page for the day and had a lot of fun and connected with some new potential readers.
I’m ready to get back to the business of writing my next book, but I’m having some trouble disconnecting from the rigors of marketing. It helps that I already have 245 pages written because they were ‘hacked’ off of “The Mesilla” when I realized that a 700-page first book wasn’t a good idea. I’m hoping to see the yet untitled book two published by this fall.
Stay tuned …
